VULGAR

The Vulgar pedal is based on the preamp of the Randall RG100 solid state amplifier made famous by Dimebag Darrell of Pantera.

New for November 2022:  experienced and heard the complaints of the original RG100 (and Vulgar) - Why do i lose so much volume when I engage the sustain switch?  We went to the Randall Century and had a look.  The Century is 99% the same preamp as the RG100 but they added some volume compensation to the sustain circuit to ensure the volume stays constant.   While we were looking at the Century, we borrowed the mid boost switch.  Keep it down and the circuit is identical to the RG100.  Flip it up and it shifts the Treble capacitor in the tone stack to put more emphasis on the frequencies.  Oh, we also shrunk it down into a 125B enclosure and added top-mount jacks while we were in there.

The pedal uses a standard boss-style 9V power supply. There is internal circuitry to generate a 24V power supply, just like the original amplifiers used.

Controls include: Master, Presence, Gain, Bass, Middle, and Treble and a sustain switch.

The sustain switch adds in some extra diode clipping to increase the saturation of the distortion. NOte that enabling the sustain switch results in output volume.

Each pedal uses a professionally assembled PCB and is proudly assembled by hand in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Other features include:

  -  Soft-touch relay true bypass for improved reliability

  -  Professional high quality FR4 PCB

  -  Powder coated enclosure with UV Printed artwork

The end result is high quality pedals that sound amazing, are consistent from pedal-to-pedal.

Each pedal comes with a 1 year warranty on parts and labour. Note that the warranty does not cover damage due to using an improper power supply or other misuse.
