The Super Fifty is our interpretation of the legendary vintage Ashly SC-50 Peak Limiter/Compressor rackmount unit.  This pedal, like the SC-50, is a line-level operating device.   If using this with instrument level signals then a preamplifier must be used to bring the signal up to line levels otherwise the pedal may not operate as expected.

​There are 5 controls: Gain, Ratio, Attack, Release and Output.  A toggle switch engages the limiter portion of the circuit.

The pedal uses a standard boss-style 9V power supply with an internal SMPS that generates ±15V to run the pedal. This is the equivalent of running the pedal with a 30V supply giving plenty of headroom. We use SMD JRC4558 and LM301 op-amps throughout the pedal.  We also use high tolerance 0.1% resistors for the gain matching in the limiter circuit as well as transistor arrays to ensure the absolute best conditions for matching the gains in the VCAs.

Each pedal uses a professionally assembled 4-layer PCB to minimize noise and is proudly assembled by hand in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Each pedal comes with a 1 year warranty on parts and labour. Note that the warranty does not cover damage due to using an improper power supply or other misuse.
