It operates off a single 9v boss-style power supply and uses an internal charge pump to boost and split the voltage to improve the headroom.

The pedal is true bypass, but when activated it uses an input buffer to convert the guitar's signal to a low impedance signal. With the boost control set to 0, there is unity gain and the pedal adds "sparkle" to your tone, especially if you are using long cables.

Turn the boost up you will hear a beautiful, responsive overdrive as it pushes your amp into sonic bliss.
